The challenge: outdated hardware slows down innovation
The existing mobile equipment provided insufficient support for modern retail processes. New applications such as mobile payments, real-time inventory information, and centralized device management placed higher demands on both hardware and software.
Dille & Kamille faced several challenges:
- Outdated PDAs with limited functionality
- No support for Pay on Glass solutions
- Limited control over application updates
- No centralized device management
- Insufficient support for future growth
The need for a scalable and manageable mobile infrastructure kept increasing. At the same time, the retailer wanted to ensure that IT management would not become a barrier to further growth and innovation.

The solution: the Zebra TC22 and smart software integration
Together with Dille & Kamille, Reverse IT analysed daily store processes and future growth requirements. Based on this, the Zebra TC22 was selected, a robust enterprise handheld specifically designed for retail environments.
The handhelds are used for a wide range of in-store processes:
- Real-time inventory management: Direct insight into stock levels, right from the aisle.
- Shelf checks and ordering: Directly connected to Dille & Kamille’s native POS application.
- Mobile checkout (Android Tap to Pay): The devices also function as mobile payment terminals via the Adyen payment app.
- SOTI MobiControl for Mobile Device Management: All devices are managed via MDM. This allows configurations, updates, and security settings to be deployed and managed centrally.
"During peak moments, we want to help customers faster without adding extra pressure on the fixed checkout counters," says Michel Hoeijmakers of Dille & Kamille. "With this solution, employees can assist customers directly on the shop floor and let them check out on the spot. At the same time, we have modern, securely managed devices that are ready for the future."

No worries about management thanks to MDM
At Reverse IT, we believe hardware only truly works when its management is flawlessly organized. That is why we have brought Dille & Kamille’s entire mobile fleet under a centralized Mobile Device Management (MDM) system. We set it up so that the IT department of Dille & Kamille does not have to worry about it.
What does this mean in practice?
- Zero-touch deployment: We deliver devices fully preconfigured. In-store, it is simply a matter of unpacking, turning them on, and getting started.
- Centralized updates without downtime: We roll out updates and security patches (such as for the payment application) centrally and in phases, without disrupting store operations.
- Continuity and security: All devices comply with the strictest security requirements, and we proactively monitor device lifespan. This results in a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

A future-proof store floor
With the implementation of Zebra handheld devices and centralized device management, Dille & Kamille now has a modern retail environment that grows alongside the organization. Employees can work more efficiently, help customers faster, and new functionalities can be added with ease.
The result of the collaboration is maximum uptime on the shop floor. Employees work with fast and reliable equipment, while customers benefit from a smoother shopping experience. And when Dille & Kamille opens new locations, device management can be scaled effortlessly.
In this way, Reverse IT fully relieves its clients in the field of mobile technology, allowing organizations to focus on their core activities.
How does Reverse IT help Dille & Kamille reduce queues?
Reverse IT equipped Dille & Kamille stores with Zebra TC22 handhelds that support Android Tap to Pay. This allows store employees to advise customers directly on the shop floor and let them pay securely on the spot, significantly reducing pressure on the fixed checkout counters.
What does Reverse IT’s centralized device management (MDM) involve?
With Mobile Device Management (MDM), we manage, secure, and update all mobile devices within an organization from a single central platform. For Dille & Kamille, this means new devices are delivered ready to use (zero-touch), and updates are deployed automatically without disrupting store operations.
Why is replacing outdated store PDAs necessary?
Old handhelds and PDAs often no longer receive software or security updates, which poses a risk to data security. In addition, they lack the processing power and features required for modern retail apps, such as mobile point-of-sale systems and real-time inventory integration.
Why do retailers use handheld computers?
Handhelds support processes such as inventory management, stock counting, price checks, order processing, and customer assistance. They improve efficiency on the shop floor and enhance the customer experience.
What are the benefits of Zebra TC22 handhelds?
The Zebra TC22 combines enterprise functionality with ease of use. The device supports modern retail applications, mobile payments, real-time data processing, and centralized management via Mobile Device Management.
