For 57 stores, with a planned expansion of 8+ stores per year, Dille & Kamille sought a future-proof solution for their outdated PDAs, which no longer met the demands of modern retail. Key requirements included:

Outdated hardware and limited device management
The existing PDAs no longer met the modern requirements of the retail sector and Dille & Kamille:
- No support for Pay on Glass
- No modern EMM/MDM solution for centralized device management
- Limited control over updates of the payment app in use
- Insufficient hardware lifecycle support
Stores were requesting new applications and greater flexibility. The existing devices could not keep up with this development, which hindered innovation on the shop floor and increased the need for professional mobility management.
Hardware advice
Reverse IT began with an assessment of the technical and operational requirements. Key criteria included:
- Suitability for Pay on Glass
- Long lifecycle and enterprise support
- Ergonomics for daily retail use
- Simple and scalable EMM management
- A single partner for implementation and managed services
An extensive POC was conducted with three hardware brands. Devices were tested for performance, durability, compatibility, and manageability. The Zebra TC22 and Zebra TC27 emerged as the best options thanks to their enterprise-grade performance, Android platform, long product lifecycle, and seamless integration with EMM software.
