Nomination with Picnic

Reverse IT has been nominated for the 2024 Computable Awards in the category of Digital Innovation! This nomination highlights the significant impact and innovation of our collaborative MDM project, which has brought about a fundamental transformation in device management for Picnic. Thanks to Reverse IT and the integration of SOTI MobiControl, the online supermarket Picnic has saved 70 working days of manual configurations.

Scaling up and optimization

Picnic, recognized as the fastest-growing company in the Netherlands in 2019, faced a significant challenge. Expanding into new cities each month and entering new markets like Germany in 2017 and recently France, Picnic's rapid growth put immense pressure on manual processes for managing devices and orders.

With this rapid expansion, the need for reliable systems to ensure timely deliveries became critical for the 'runners' or delivery staff. Issues such as device battery depletion could severely impact delivery times. Additionally, managing device security and compliance at every location was a considerable challenge without the option to deploy technicians everywhere.

Smart technology for more efficient management

Reverse IT, in partnership with Picnic and SOTI, implemented an advanced solution using SOTI MobiControl. Previously, setting up a new device took about 20 minutes; this time has now been reduced to just 3 minutes. With SOTI MobiControl, errors can be remotely corrected by a single person, and battery status and inventory can be easily monitored. This enables proactive problem-solving, such as charging or replacing devices before they are used for deliveries.

The runners now benefit from an improved user experience. Their mobile terminals are always fully charged and equipped with the latest software, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of their work.
