Vepo Cheese, a family company that buys and processes cheese worldwide, distinguishes itself by a customer-oriented approach: all production is entirely based on specific customer orders. No general stock is used; everything is customised, tailored to the customer's unique wishes and needs. To further optimise their production process, Vepo Cheese needed new IT solutions. During the implementation of a new ERP and WMS system, it also became clear that new barcode scanners were needed. For this challenge, Vepo Cheese turned to Reverse IT.
Over a year ago, Vepo Cheese began the process of replacing their equipment. They were looking for barcode scanners that were not only flexible enough to scan different lengths, but could also be easily adapted to the specific requirements per department. To make an informed choice, the company ordered several scanners from multiple brands for testing on the shop floor. This gave Vepo Cheese a good idea of both the equipment and the suppliers. Although the improvements made by the new scanners are not yet fully measurable, expectations are high. The ease of use has improved significantly, and the devices provide instant insight into the data needed.
