A new distribution center requires optimal control over logistics processes. To improve these, fonQ decided to replace both the outdated scanning hardware and their custom WMS. In early 2019, fonQ joined forces with Reverse IT to realize this renewal. The existing hardware was outdated, and the development of the custom WMS had stopped, leading to the decision to opt for a third-party WMS.

Reverse IT provided independent advice and prepared a tailored proposal for the hardware renewal, allowing fonQ to further optimize its logistics processes.

Switch to Honeywell

To optimize operations, fonQ chose hardware that closely aligned with their specific needs. Reverse IT recommended the Honeywell brand due to its excellent price-quality ratio and versatility.

Honeywell Dolphin CT40
The Honeywell CT40, a compact and lightweight handheld terminal, became the central device in the new hardware package. With the optional scan handle, this full-touch mobile computer offers user-friendliness and flexibility. Additionally, it is customizable with accessories, allowing it to be used as a wearable or desktop computer.

Honeywell Dolphin CK65
For heavier warehouse tasks, fonQ chose the rugged Honeywell CK65. This PDA, featuring both a keyboard and touchscreen, is designed for intensive scanning tasks, with an ergonomic shape, durability, and a battery life of up to 28 hours.

Honeywell RT10A Tablet
At the end of 2020, fonQ requested a solution for returns processing. After testing various models, the Honeywell RT10A was selected. This Android tablet with a bright 10.1" screen and integrated FlexRange scanner can scan distances of up to 10 meters, making it versatile for various logistics processes.

Implementation, Training, and Support

At Reverse IT, the service goes beyond just providing hardware and software. FonQ received extensive demonstrations and the opportunity to conduct hands-on tests with the Honeywell equipment and accessories, allowing them to confidently make the right choices. With Reverse IT's Mobile Managed Services (MMS), fonQ now has real-time insight into the usage of all their devices via the SOTI dashboard. This makes it easy to support users remotely, roll out software updates quickly, and test new applications.

During the testing phase, Reverse IT worked closely with Diract and their Ceyenne WMS, providing expert guidance and seamless integration. After the system was configured and staff was trained, the implementation was smoothly completed. Even after the implementation, Reverse IT continues to support fonQ with remote assistance, ensuring any issues are resolved quickly and efficiently..
